Innovation for hand spinners

Innovation for hand spinners

An "exotic" spinning wheel sold for the first time in Europe!

The pedal-driven spinning wheel, which functions on the principle of the ring spinning machine, comes from Assam. It is particularly suitable for spinning fine to very fine threads of silk and other materials. With these spinning wheels, for example, the women in Meghalaya produce the silk yarn that you can also find here in the shop. The production is about five times compared to the hand spindle.

The well thought-out ring spinning wheel enables effective spinning and offers many adjustment options. With the help of the various spinning rings, different yarn counts can be optimally produced. The translation is available in two speeds. The uniform winding on the spindle is controlled by hand. The pedal is individually adjustable.

Solid construction of wood and metal

The used "glass wood" is stored for 18 months before it is processed. The spinning device is an original part of the industrial ring spinning machine production. The wooden parts and other metal parts are made by hand in a small workshop in Assam. The spinning wheel is almost indestructible and survives every monsoon.
