In contrast to other silk fabrics, single jersey and interlock jersey are not woven but knitted, which gives them elasticity. Jersey is relatively opaque and is often used for children's clothing, sportswear or underwear (lingerie) where stretch is important. Jersey is also ideal for DIY lovers who like to sew things like doll clothes etc. themselves.
