Many things can be handcrafted from the cocoons, such as fairy lights, chains for children to play with, or simply used as decoration on the seasonal table. The cocoons are also often used in a classroom to explain how silk is obtained. While the tussah silk cocoons are slightly larger and rougher, the mulberry silk cocoons are used more for smaller and more delicate projects. Silk yarns and threads can be spun from silk ribbon, fibers and fleece with the spinning wheel. With fleece, made of wool or silk or with wool and silk in combination, you can felt or fill blankets, pillows and stuffed animals - just as you need.
